I find people endlessly fascinating: what motivates them, what makes them feel connected to one another, what makes them feel stressed, what makes them feel delighted. Imagine my delight when I learned one could turn that into a career, applying my skills as a PhD in Social Psychology to the world of tech! First, I did this as a researcher, conducting quantitative and qualitative research and collaborating closely with cross-functional partners to build real value for users, customers, and the business. Second, I've done this as a people leader for research and data science professionals, taking time to deeply understand them as unique individuals and then figuring out how to craft opportunities that leverage their strengths and help them grow. Now I have the great privilege of doing this for Workday's Research & Data Science organization as a whole, ensuring we're building a thriving, impactful org with long-term sustainability and well being at the forefront. I also get to teach in USC's Masters of Applied Psychology program, helping students prepare for careers like this!As a leader, I identify most with the servant leadership model. My core leadership values are empathy, authenticity, and responsivity to each team member's unique needs.As a partner, I value building trusting, collaborative relationships. When each discipline brings their expertise and skill to the table and anchors on a shared goal, we can build compelling and valuable products together.My Linked DMs get pretty flooded and honestly overwhelming, so I typically prioritize responding to people who I know offline.
