I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at Johns Hopkins University conducting research in the fields of orthopaedics, tissue engineering, and cellular senescence. My long-term career goal is to develop treatments for physical injuries and disorders so that patients may live pain-free, remain active, and sustain an improved quality of life.

Postdoctoral FellowThe Johns Hopkins University Mar 2022 - PresentI am a Postdoctoral Fellow working in the laboratory of Professor Jennifer Elisseeff at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. -
Phd StudentJohns Hopkins Biomedical Engineering Aug 2015 - Feb 2022I conducted orthopaedic tissue engineering research in Professor Warren Grayson's lab at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. My thesis focused on applying quantitative 3D light-sheet microscopy to study the spatial distribution and relationships of blood vessels and stem cells in the skull during postnatal growth, healing, and remodeling. I also conducted studies related to bone graft development using 3D printing, growth factor delivery, and adipose-derived stem cells. -
Undergraduate Research AssistantMusculoskeletal And Translational Tissue Engineering Research (Matter) Laboratory Jan 2012 - Jun 2015Rensselaer Polytechnic InstituteI performed musculoskeletal tissue engineering research under the supervision of PI Dr. James Cooper. My projects involved the development and evaluation of polycaprolactone (PCL) materials for vascular tissue engineering, and the development of a technique to track human mesenchymal stem cell differentiation using conductive atomic force microscopy (cAFM).

Nsf Research Experience For Undergraduates, Materials Science And EngineeringNorthwestern University Jun 2014 - Aug 2014Northwestern UniversityI investigated the effects of acidic organic molecules on the morphology of single crystalline calcite. The objective of this research was to understand the mechanisms by which spicules in sea urchin embryos develop their smooth calcite morphology, which will allow for the development of more structurally advanced materials for medical and electronic applications. Techniques I used included sea urchin embryonic culture, scanning electron microscopy, and contact angle measurements. I presented this research at the end the program and wrote a final report about my results. -
Nsf Research Experience For Undergraduates, BioengineeringWorcester Polytechnic Institute Jun 2013 - Aug 2013Worcester, MaDuring this 10-week research internship, I developed a mechanical actuation device for three-dimensional, tissue engineered skeletal muscle tissue constructs. Deliverables involved in this project included an abstract submission to the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) national conference and a formal presentation of my research at the end of the program. I presented this research at the BMES conference in September 2013.Other components of this program included weekly professional development seminars and communication workshops. I also participated in a week-long research mentoring program for women in which I worked with a middle school student on an independent research project. -
Cell Biology Undergraduate MentorRensselaer Polytechnic Institute Jan 2013 - May 2013Taught weekly recitation classes to approximately 20 undergraduate cell biology students. Wrote quizzes for each class and reviewed over lecture material to help students prepare for the exams.
