•Oversees the student services department for a school of 560 students, kindergarten through eighth grade. •Supervises the student services team which includes all special education teachers and differentiation instructors. •Provides support for special education services, including writing and implementing service learning and accommodation plans.•Provides individual counseling related to mental health, behavior, social, and emotional issues.•Coordinates and facilitates grief and loss, organization, transition, and social success groups.•Supervises staff in implementation and execution of behavior plans.•Participates in off-site educational planning meetings.•Hosts parent and teacher resource meetings.•Coordinates community service projects.•Advocates to receive adequate support from social and mental health agencies for families.•Provides consultation to families, teachers, and staff.•Assists parents to access programs available to students with special needs. •Examines issues relating to substance abuse, bullying, anger management, self-image, depression, relationships, stress, impulsivity, and the like and responds with prevention strategies and/or intervention strategies.

•Provides direct crisis intervention services for clients and their families.•Communicates and coordinates with internal programs and external providers for continuity of services for identified clients. Documents all information, contacts, and relevant actions.•Completes state USARF screening forms with unfunded patients in the Emergency Department.•Gathers data in the Emergency Department from the hospital staff and the patient and coordinates the linkage efforts with the state facility.•Takes calls for the after-hours crisis line and is able to assess the need for psychiatric or medical interventions up to and including hospitalization.
