As a tour manager, her decades of experience booking and working with independent bands & labels comes to the fore. Her curatorial work has appeared at Floristree, School 33, Load of Fun Gallery and Hexagon Space. As Lexie Mountain, Macchi has been an active contributor to Baltimore's cultural scene for over a decade. She came to Baltimore from Chicago, where she worked for Thrill Jockey Records 2000-2002 after interning at the legendary Touch and Go Records in 1999-2000. 2004-2006 she programmed events, art shows, free festivals and music performances at various venues in the city. In 2011 Macchi curated a weekend-long storefront rear-projection video exhibition for Transmodern Festival, co-founded the Baltimore Blue Ribbon Ice Cream Championship with Dan Deacon, and completed an MFA at UMBC's IMDA Program. During her tenure as a Graduate Research Assistant at UMBC's Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture, she curated storefront exhibitions in conjunction with Highlandtown Arts District. Her work as the Samuel H. Kress Fellow at the Walters Art Museum in 2014 informed the museum's plan in reopening the Hackerman House wing. She is a founder and member of all-female experimental a capella collective Lexie Mountain Boys and avant-rock group Crazy Dreams Band, makes solo sounds under the name Lexie Mountain and collaborates regularly with a wide variety of performers and musicians in Baltimore and beyond.
