Built interpretable Machine learning models including Decision trees, Rule-Fit and Skope-Rules in Python with over 1.4 million historical user data and achieved over 97% precision to identify “no-hit” customers. Significantly improved the efficiency of downstream product department by 5X and enabled them to anticipate the risk of supplying lower quotation to “no-hit” customers and depict their characteristics through the human-readable rules generated from model outputs. The models in production apply on $1.7 billion pricing policies to enhance pricing accuracy and profitability. Cleaned and preprocessed over 23 million historical records since 2011 with summary, histograms, and boxplots with customizable automated Python scripts. Analyzed and corrected inconsistencies in units, missing values, and abnormalities and excluded possible outliers. Conducted multi-dimensional exploratory data analysis and feature engineering by performing dimension reduction through PCA analysis and fitting a Gradient Boosting algorithm to find potential profit lifting factors. Recognized 10+ variables that have the greatest potential in improving profit with help of scree plot and feature importance.Updated rating factors of variable combinations for profit lifting by fitting Generalized Linear models in SAS for 4 coverages of auto insurance.
