• Analyzed and revised the Walkability Assessment Tool under the Institute for Public Administration’s Complete Communities Project in order to preserve the existing tool resulting in better utilization of grant money for other projects. • Attended in-field walkability workshops to observe best practices and gathered visual material to incorporate into tool update.• Created and distributed a stakeholder survey to ten urban planning, disabilities studies, and local government experts to collect feedback on the existing tool. The results of the survey were then compiled into a matrix and interpreted for the research team. Key Accomplishment: • Published an updated and streamlined assessment tool, which is successfully used by local government officials to assess and correct walkability issues in their communities. This ensures greater access to transportation, as well as a variety of health and safety benefits.
