Presenting Science Theatre (+ Planetarium) shows to all ages in the UK’s longest (& Wales’ only) established science centre, as well as many other duties to support the operation of the extremely popular interactive learning environment.

Responsible for the interpretation, development, operation and maintenance of one of Wales' most iconic historical landmarks.

• To develop, implement and oversee the effective operation of systems for the capture, safe storage, and export of data to determine the impact of potential changes in School admissions policy (to the medical undergraduate course)• To oversee the effective operation of all procedures relating to the capture, storage and manipulation of data, including the provision of training, advice and guidance to academic and administrative staff involved in those procedures• To generate routine statistical reports • To produce an overall report. This will include the summary descriptive statistics, together with the influence of other student demographic factors such as prior qualifications, gender, ethnicity and selection data using appropriate statistical modelling• To work alongside IT development staff in specifying, testing and quality assuring hardware and software solutions• To work with the Sub-Dean for Admissions, the Year Directors and Year Co-ordinators to develop standard reports and data outputs• To ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in respect of equality and diversity, data protection, copyright and licensing, security, financial and other University policies, procedures and codes as appropriate

To support, develop and enhance the IT requirements of Human Resources department including SQL scripting, workflow development, the U-Access system and the WAG workforce master index, Snowdrop.

• Examining system documentation pertaining to a package allocated by the System Test Manager using Clearquest and verifying that it is complete and consistent to timelines dictated by Business Milestone plans• Liaision with business users and other members of the IT team to expand and resolve issues and omissions • Developing test scripts to verify that software conforms to its documentation • Executing test scripts, the timelines dictated by Business Milestone plans • Documenting test results to defined standards • Becoming familiar with the database structure of the system and familiar with the tools required to interrogate and manipulate data to enable tests to be accomplished • Raise and Manage test failures • Working flexibly within the team to reallocate work to enable deadlines to be met • Contributing at team meetings to establish progress against milestones • Providing advice to User Assurance Teams on how they might undertake their own testing• Interrogating and manipulating data on the system on behalf of User Assurance Teams to support their own testing
