Studying the implications of adding a conservation of mass component into NREL's FLORIS software, comparing FLORIS with steady-state wake modelling capabilities of the University of Utah's QES software.

Site Specific Energy Systems Lab / Wind Energy And Turbulence Lab

With the SSES Group, I studied and quantified electricity-based emissions produced by buildings on the University campus. As an undergrad with the WET Group, I worked on the IPAQS project, studying atmospheric interactions with spatial temperature heterogeneity. Specifically created an autocorrelation function to better understand the connection between the two quantities of interest.

Continued work from from Summer 2022 SULI Internship - focused on quantifying momentum flux through wind turbines for a better understanding of turbine efficiency.

Assisted in drafting lighting, electrical, and mechanical plans for a different scope of buildings. Learned how to use the Revit software for drafting purposes.

Worked as a part of the AWAKEN Project through the National Wind Technology Center, learned how to run code with NREL's SOWFA software. The end goal was to look at momentum and kinetic energy flux through wind farms for energy optimization.
