On top of continuing to act as a technical lead, I was responsible for setting the company’s technology strategy, managing budgets and handling escalations. I also continued to focus on improving our Machine Learning / data capabilities, training and shipping a number of models to classify influencers and audience using Tensorflow/Keras and AWS Lambda for serving predictions in production.

Started out primarily as a web developer and ops person but ended up heavily involved in the data side of things including acquiring datasets, training and tuning ML models and building complex data processing pipelines. Lots of time spent getting data in and out of HBase/Hadoop, Postgres and Elasticsearch; building services with Twisted, Consul and RabbitMQ; doing data engineering with Scikit-learn and Pandas; and hosting it all on AWS using Salt Stack for configuration management.
