In 2015, I studied a PhD. in African American Studies at the University of Massachusetts, USA because my objective was to contribute to the studies on the questions on race and race relations in Africa, the United States and Latin America. There, I was be able to learn a set of methodological tools and epistemological approaches that helped me develop a critical thought about historical, political, and economic processes in which racial relations were central for understanding the building of modern societies. I could study there because in 2014, I was granted a Fulbright scholarship by the United States Embassy. This scholarship is one of the greatest achievements in my life, since it is granted to people who are able to demonstrate an outstanding academic progress, which is linked to a significant grassroots community work and leadership.Moreover, I am an English – Spanish teacher, translator and interpreter. I have worked on it since I graduated at Distrital University Francisco Jose de Caldas in 2013. To go further in my academic and professional experience, nowadays, I am studying to be a full stack software developer at Antioquia University, Colombia, and also, I have taken some software development courses at ALURA LATAM – ORACLE, DS4A COLOMBIA, PROTALENTO and EGG COOPERATION. Everything I have achieved so far is thanks to my family and friends´ support, and also to my great heroine, Harriet Tubman who once stated “every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world”.
