Administer the statewide forest health monitoring and management program, Detect and identify and monitor threats to forest health. Provide technical assistance to forest managers. Special emphasis on invasive threats such as EAB.

Partner with communities, other agencies, and volunteer groups to manage community tree resources in North Dakota cities, with special emphasis on inventory and planning, flood recovery, and mitigation for invasive species.

Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors with camping and other in-person and on-line reservations, camping goods purchases, and recreation park information. Clean and refresh cabins for visitor stays.

Staff Supervision and Training• Manage, train, and schedule 18 full time and 15-18 part time employees for 300-acres of arboretum, grounds, athletic field, horticulture, and pavement care, plus waste management.• Managed a mechanic and the grounds vehicles and equipment.• Managed operating and special project budgets.Project Management• Managed over $6,500,000 in infrastructure improvement projects including streets, parking lots, storm water, athletic fields and track, tennis courts, sidewalks, and trails.• Initiated and managed emergency response and tree clean-up during 2007 ice storm disaster, then managed the $90,000; 350-tree commemorative tree planting project.• Wrote grant applications which were funded: $208,000 for trail design and construction, $35,000 for recycling improvements, and $15,000 for tree planting and care. Managed these projects.• Initiated campus composting, expanded campus recycling, managed campus participation in "Recyclemania" from 2004-2011.GIS• Used the campus GIS for mapping and utility locate requests.• Combined campus GIS information with ArcGIS for more sophisticated mapping and analysis projects such as a campus lighting survey and a tree planting suitability model.

• Conduct street and park tree inventories and analyses using aerial images andExcel spreadsheets for the cities of Plattsburg, Parkville, Savannah, Kirksville, and Maryville,Missouri.• Planted over 15,000 3-gallon containerized trees to restore forests and wetlandsfor the Missouri Department of Conservation, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, McKinzie Construction Company, and private landowners.
