In this role, I conducted a preliminary analysis of the relationship between judicial practice and new technologies, with a specific focus on digitalization processes within Costa Rica. To gain valuable insights, I carried out benchmarking research, studying international best practices in e-justice and evaluating their potential impact on the Costa Rican judicial system.As a result of my research, I developed a comprehensive working document that outlined the current state of digital tools utilized across the Costa Rican judicial system. This document, intended for my supervisor's review, presented a mapping of E-justice tools within the country and offered valuable recommendations for improvement. To enrich these recommendations, I drew insights from a thorough comparison with e-justice practices in other regions.In addition to my local research, I conducted benchmarking research on e-justice platforms worldwide. My focus was on understanding their contributions to enhancing access to justice and alleviating the backlog of judicial cases, particularly during the Covid 19 pandemic.The findings from this research were instrumental in identifying specific areas where the Costa Rican system could further enhance its approach to e-justice, seeking inspiration and lessons from successful implementations globally.

During my internship, I had the opportunity to collaborate with the local committee of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to implement the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 11, focusing specifically on the issue of sustainable cities and communities. My responsibilities covered various activities, among which the coordination of the launch event of the network of stakeholders interested in SDG 11 in Costa Rica stands out. In addition, I got involved in carrying out relevant legal investigations and establishing communication with the main actors involved in the process. One of the important aspects of my work was to promote the active participation of the academy in the network of stakeholders, thus seeking a multidisciplinary approach in achieving sustainable objectives for cities and communities. Throughout this experience, I learned the importance of collaboration between different sectors and the need to establish strong alliances to achieve sustainable development. Participating in the implementation of such a relevant SDG gave me a valuable perspective on the challenges and opportunities we face in the search for a more sustainable and equitable future for all.
