I am a criminal defense attorney, in my fourth decade of practice. This year I joined Dolan & Zimmerman in Boulder as Senior Attorney Emeritus. Although based in Boulder County, Colorado, I handle cases in Broomfield, Weld, Larimer, Jefferson, and on occasion in many other Colorado Counties. I am an anti-drug war crusader, a teacher, author, LEAP speaker, and dabble in the fine arts (not always so fine when I do it). Crayons, photography, to sawdust, and soon acrylics in a new adventure. Since I have little shame, I am willing to share my attempts at art on my www.Lfrieling.com site and on facebook.I get true pleasure out of helping my clients, and especially enjoy it when my years of experience come together and result in a successful plan leading to a result which FAR exceeds my client's expectations. I keep in mind that I work for the client, and not for me. My job is give the advice from which the client will enjoy the greatest benefit. My job is not to insure that I receive the greatest benefit. A good example is my willingness to NOT take a case when I believe that I am not the best lawyer for that case. Specialties: DUI, DUID, all pot cases, criminal defense generally, all types of drug cases, state cases, assaults, , misdemeanors, felonies, and most other criminal cases from traffic to treason in the state courts.Because my law firm is a boutique firm, I am not set up to handle complex cases with files exceeding 5-10 thousand pages on my own. For cases which require it, I either work with others as a team, or refer the case to another firm. That depends upon my assessment of how significant my personal contribution might be.
