As Acting Director of Public Way Policy at the Chicago Department of Transportation, my focus is on improving urban mobility and public space through Transportation Demand Management and the strategic development of our public way. I bring nearly two decades of expertise in sustainable transportation and urban development to this role. At the Seattle Department of Transportation, I managed a variety of complex transportation projects and programs, including the rapid implementation of the downtown bike network, expansion of the regional Burke-Gilman Trail, Vision Zero safety projects, and design approval of the Center City Connector streetcar.Prior to working in transportation, I specialized in the design, development, and construction of urban infill projects. Highlights include building the first LEED-Gold affordable homes in California, leading international build trips in Africa and Central America, managing large class A developments, including a high-rise on the Seattle waterfront, and creating a program to renovate foreclosed homes for low-income families during the Great Recession.I hold degrees from the University of Michigan and the University of Washington in Architecture, Real Estate, and Sustainable Transportation. My commitment to community service is reflected in my involvement on various local boards, including a three-year tenure with the Urban Land Institute Young Leaders Group.I’m enthusiastic about continuing my public service and advancing sustainable practices in urban development and transportation in my hometown.
