Global Mayors Challenge 2021 Photojournalist. From August to December, 50 cities were chosen among 631 others cities of the world and are running the final phase of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Program. I am the photojournalist to cover the city of Recife, in Brazil.

Giving part of the classes of the discipline Architecture, Urbanism and Landscape I; assisting students; correcting papers.

The collaborative group "OXE, my city is massa!" was created by five co-founders as students of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) in 2017. This initiative was led by a common feeling and willingness to generate experiences and debates about reframing and activating the city's public spaces.The creation of the group took place after some conversations between its co-founding members regarding their perceptions about public spaces in Brazil and countries abroad (which the authors experienced in the years 2014-2015 as scholarship students of the Science without Borders program). Analyzing factors such as occupation, quality, and collective use of these spaces in the urban fabric of different cities was a turning point in our way of seeing our native city. Then, we decided to turn it into placemaking and tactical urbanism actions, bringing urban concepts and call to action for urban interventions. The collective's goal in creating and executing DIY actions was to engage and show the transforming potential of the citizen, exploring new urban approaches that can contribute to the development ofcities. Both Tactical Urbanism, placemaking and DIY are great tools to make changes or projects in public spaces more nimbly and effectively, considering that today any urban intervention usually tends to go through a thick bureaucratic layer to be finally approved.

Architecture and Urbanism in a realistic context. Another aim was to evaluate the importance of the profession of the Architect, understanding their attributions from office practice to work monitoring. The goal was to provide me, as an intern, the opportunity to confront the theoretical and practical fields.
