Worked under Dr. Seth Guikema for the following projects:• Modeled infrastructure vulnerability from hurricanes with MATLAB, EPANET, and R by coupling power and water networks for St. Kitts, running wind simulations, emulating power outages, and identifying broken water wells in a closed system. • Conducted data analyses on tsunami damage in Japan using R.

Worked under Dr. Grace Brush for the following project:• Performed analyses (in R and VBA) of collected tree data to observe the effects of hydrology and geomorphology on vegetation by investigating patterns in nutrients, species, and substrate.

Worked under Chris Kelley and Dr. Bill Ball for the following project:• Worked on the design and implementation of an inexpensive and easy-to-use microcontroller-based device that assesses turbidity in water treatment plants. Prepared samples of turbid water, worked with commercial turbidimeters, tested the device and sensors over a range of turbidities, and adjusted the microcontroller code to function with different sensors. Served as project manager for the expansion of production and further development of the turbidimeter. Began production of the device for tests from interested treatment plants (nationally and internationally). Helped submit an article to Sensors detailing how to create the turbidimeter and wider applications. Was part of the team to be awarded Phase 2 funding from the EPA People, Prosperity, and Planet (P3) Award for 2014.

Was a TA under Dr. Hedy Alavi doing the following tasks:• Helped students in an introductory environmental engineering course and a hazardous waste management course.• Assessed their work on topics ranging from water and wastewater treatment to risk decision to environmental policy and science.

Active as Canoeing Leader, part of Office Staff, part of the Selection Team, and as Pre-Orientation Leader doing the following tasks:• Ran at least one canoeing trip a semester with about eight-person groups of students.• Responded to emails, phone calls, and walk-ins about the program and trips, and file students’ paperwork for these trips.• Selected new canoeing leaders from a pool of applicants• Guided groups of incoming freshman on a week-long canoeing and hiking trip with the program

Worked under Dr. Alan Rabideau for the following project:• Conducted groundwater modeling of a poplar-based phytoremediation system to investigate the interaction of the contaminated groundwater with the environment.• Performed field work testing hydraulic conductivity in wells at the site.• Measured the flow of a nearby stream to see any effects from the tree barrier.• Created an assessment for the health of the trees used in the phytoremediation.

• Participated in a Rotary Youth Exchange to Ecuador.
