Research Title: Improved Design of Bullet Proof Shield Based on Biomimetics Approach.Biological models of fish scales, nacre, and mantis shrimps were selected and the principle theories were extracted in order to improve the ballistic limit velocity of the existing design of the shield. On the other hand, high modulus T700 Carbon Fibre Reinforced Epoxy (CFRP) laminate and Polycarbonate (PC) were selected as hybrid materials to mimic these biological structures. These material combinations further analyse with Finite Element Analysis tools.
