Jill worked in construction as a residential landscaper prior to receiving a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Carleton University and began a master’s degree in architecture at Dalhousie University, before transferring to the University of British Columbia to be a candidate in the prestigious dual degree program, Master of Architecture and Master of Landscape Architecture. While completing her studies, Jill has acted as a student representative for health and wellness at UBC, and received several awards, including winning the CAHP Student Achievement Award in 2023 for a heritage project. Born and raised in the suburbs of Southern Ontario and have travelled all over Canada, Jill has taken an interest in vernacular architecture and its relationship to place. With a relentless attention to detail, her design methodology looks for opportunities to deploy scalable systems and strategies that can blur the lines between architecture and its landscape context. Before heading to the West Coast, Jill worked for an award-winning architecture firm in Toronto focusing on single- and multi-family housing and commercial projects.
