I chose my career as a social worker for several reasons. One of those reasons is my passion to improve the healthcare system. I want healthcare in the U.S. to continue to develop more integrated health services. The mind, body, and soul are all connected. Therefore, we need to treat patients, clients, and program participants with multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams. Wellness is more complex than simply treating symptoms that are present. As a Bilingual (Spanish/English) clinical social worker, I provide individual therapy to referred clients from age 13 and older. I provide services through client-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed perspectives to clients with severe mental illness and co-occurring substance abuse/addiction disorders utilizing a harm reduction approach. My areas of interest include: -Autoimmune diseases -Psychosocial Treatments-Social determinants of health-Mental/Behavioral health services-Integrative health and wellness-Services for people in the LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and Spanish speaking communities.
