My role involved developing a PHP script that utilized web scraping techniques to gather and process real estate property data from the Zillow platform. The script was designed to extract property details such as beds, baths, price, location, and other relevant information.Key Achievements:- Developed a PHP script that parsed command-line arguments to specify the target location (latitude, longitude, city, and state) for data collection.- Utilized cURL with a headless Chrome browser to fetch HTML content from Zillow's property search pages and extract JSON data.- Created a structured JSON output that included data about the target location, map bounds, and other search parameters.- Implemented subregion division to facilitate data collection across smaller regions within the target area.- Processed and stored property data in CSV format, ensuring accurate and organized storage for further analysis.- Led the team to enhance error handling, data validation, and retry mechanisms for robust data collection.
