I assisted in disassembly of a dual chamber molecular beam epitaxy laboratory from the National High Magnetic Field Lab at Florida State University and moving the laboratory equipment to the LEGO (Layered Growth of Oxides) physics lab at the University of North Florida. Upon receiving the equipment at the University of North Florida I assisted in resolving the reinstallation strategy via AutoCad drawings detailing: the new laboratory space, furnishings, laboratory equipment, bridge crane, raised floor, chilled water lines, compressed air lines, dry nitrogen lines, compressed helium lines, vacuum lines and exhaust routing. I aided in the purchasing of the: needed tools, bridge crane, and raised floor. I assisted in coordinating with engineers and construction crew for the demolition of the existing space in preparation for the installation.

I assisted in the S-parameter characterization of superconducting nanowire meanders at microwave frequencies which were geometrically designed to create a kinetic inductance in the sample. To do this I helped design and machine sample holders which incorporated a PCB coplanar waveguide which I also helped design and fabricate. The samples used were both outsourced using e-beam lithography and produced in-house using photolithographic techniques. I assisted in establishing the photolithographic technique, created a vacuum control system used for the mask alignment and produced samples using the established technique. The samples produced in-house were niobium nanowires deposited on crystalline silicon wafers. I was involved in the design and simulation of the in-house samples. Then, I assisted in the cryogenic experimentation of the samples. After adjusting the simulation parameters to better agree with experimental data, these structures were then used as components in simulations and samples for: frequency-sweeping bolometric readouts for single photon detectors, and parametric amplifiers.
