Vote Mama Foundation is the leading source of research and analysis about the political participation of mothers in the United States. We work toward gender equity by breaking the barriers mothers face running for office, normalizing mothers of young children running for office, and enabling legislators to pass family-friendly policies.

Vote Mama PAC is the first political action committee in the county dedicated to electing Democratic moms from School Board to U.S. Senate. Vote Mama builds the political power of moms by stepping in to disrupt the systems that hold women back through direct financial support, mentorship, and endorsements.We measure our success not just by the number of mamas who get elected, but by the normalization of moms running for office.We’re building a world where childcare, paid family leave, maternal health, and education are not considered “women’s issues,” but infrastructure issues that affect every American. I have spent my whole career fighting for working families both at home and abroad. I’ve worked with farmers, diplomats, healthcare workers, government leaders and entrepreneurs. I’ve helped organizations strengthen their communities through civic education, economic development, and coalition building. I fought to make the use of international aid funds more accountable and less corrupt — only to watch our own Federal government become more wasteful and unaccountable. I worked to help restore economically depressed communities around the world, and I learned from my work the importance of bringing people together to find a common solution. Provides strategic guidance, research, and policy analysis focused on health, gender equity, and women’s economic empowerment.PL+US – Analyzed the paid family leave policies at the top 60 corporate employers in the U.S., researched the economic, social, and health benefits of paid family leave, and wrote a report to help the organization launch their corporate family leave advocacy campaign. (September – November 2016)BILL & MELINDA GATES FOUNDATION-- Primary Health Care: Conducted a literature review and wrote a report analyzing primary health care’s (PHC) role in advancing global health, specifically focused on the current and historical landscape of messaging on PHC and related subjects, to inform the foundation’s strategic engagement and messaging about PHC, as well as provide a baseline from which to better assess progress in making PHC a global and national priority in key geographies. • VITAL VOICES – Wrote a literature review on women-owned Small and-Medium Size Enterprises, and the impact of increased female labor force participation on the global economy. • WOMEN DELIVER - Served as a gender specialist to edit research briefs as part of Deliver for Good, an evidence-based advocacy campaign that applies a gender lens to the Sustainable Development Goals and promotes 12 critical investments in girls and women. Topics included: Women's Economic Empowerment, Maternal and Newborn Health, Women's Political Participation, Climate Change, Improving Data & Accountability to Achieve Progress for Girls and Women, and Education.

Worked with leading development economist Dr. Yaw Nyarko, to manage three research institutes, the Development Research Institute (DRI co-led by Prof. Bill Easterly), Africa House, and the Center for Technology and Economic Development (CTED), at NYU in New York City, Abu Dhabi, Accra, and Addis Ababa. Directed various multi-year research projects across six impact areas: financial access, food and water, healthcare, energy, education, and agriculture market development. Managed staff and PhD students across four countries and three continents to implement programs that combine economic principles and technology to develop innovative solutions to problems facing the developing world.Directed legal, financial, administrative, and operational activities, including recruitment and contracts, financial oversight and budgeting, fundraising, University's Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals to conduct research with Human Subjects, strategic planning and human resource policies.Featured Projects:-- Conducted research on trends/developments in commodities exchanges in Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Ghana and Nigeria (GCX, ECX, EAX).-- Research evaluating ESOKOs mobile price alert systems used by rural small-holder farmers in the Volta Region and Afram Plains, Ghana.-- Worked with Ghanaian architects to manage the design and building of a rural Town Hall research center, located in the agricultural area of the Kumawu Afram Plains. This center is devoted to the advancement of knowledge that improves the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and rural households.-- Management support for field deployment of beta CTED Market Information System apps in rural agricultural communities in Ghana

Titles Held: 2010-2011 Director, UNA-USA Membership 2009-2010 Director of Membership 2008-2009 Manager of Membership Programs 2007-2008 National Membership Coordinator ** The United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) Merged with the UN Foundation on November 1, 2010.During my tenure at UNA-USA, I transformed the organization’s neglected grassroots base into its most valuable asset. I had inherited a deteriorating department with an outdated structure and no outreach strategy to engage members. I travelled throughout the field to mend the chapter-national relationship, renewed trust among the members, and rebuilt a robust network of community-based activists. I directed all membership programs and developed national strategies to mobilize over 15,000 members to educate their communities about the critical work of the UN through a combination of advocacy, public outreach, policy analysis, fundraising, events, and international dialogue.Over a period of five years, UNA-USA had been led by three different presidents and by one executive director, and through these transitions I served as the organization’s steady public face to its 125 chapters. The successful revitalization of UNA-USA’s grassroots base was one of the primary reasons for the UN Foundation’s interest in acquiring the organization. I worked directly with our President to manage negotiations between UNA-USA and the UN Foundation for their merger, which created the single-largest network of American advocates for the UN. I directed a complex National Convention required by NY State law to approve the merger. I drafted new institutional documents and worked with our attorneys to design a strategy to break apart and dissolve UNA-USA and create a new legal entity under the UN Foundation to better serve UNA members and mutually achieve both organizations’ missions.

Collaborated on the creation and implementation of a landmark Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the Carpathian Compact, strategically designed to convene major multinational corporations, emerging small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), foundations, individuals, NGO/civil society organizations, and governmental organizations, to build a framework to foster economic development and CSR capacity in Central and Eastern Europe.
