    Turn Around of a Supply Chain Company.In early 2009 I was recruited by the Cryoport Board to turn-around a public Company that had seven weeks of cash, no sales, wrong business model, inept leadership & Board and large aggressive debt holders plus upset shareholders. Public markets were inaccessible at that time due to the subprime housing market crisis. I took on the CEO job stating that I was skeptical that the Company could be saved in these impossible circumstances.A brief summary of the key elements of the turn-around are highlighted in the following list. In short, the turn-around was highly successful and resulted in a Company that, instead of bankruptcy, grew over the next ten years to a Company with a $3.7 billion market capitalization.-Established trust in the team that management will tell them the truth.-Secured interim funding, to keep the Company viable, through an upper mid-west investment banking firm that had a large stake in the Company.-Negotiated with the highly aggressive debt firm to have them give up several convents and to support the interim funding.-Changed the business model from being a “manufacturer of supply chain containers sold to customers” to a supplier of shipping services to deliver turn key shipping and tracking of the containers for ease of use - customers embraced the new model.- Develop the infrastructure to deliver the end-to-end supply chain solution.-Established a strategic relationship directly with Fred Smith, CEO at Federal Express to be a key partner in the supply chain solution.-Engaged key customers and established proof of principle model.-Raise more than $12 million of capital to support the development and market launch under the new business model.-During this period brought on key management personnel including a strong CFO, an IT expert to set the new tracking model, and sales professionals.-Rebrand the Company and established the new business model for industry leadership.
