Lindsey DeVries is an arts professional built like a Swiss Army knife—sharp, versatile and easy to work with. Her strengths in writing, media relations, and communications are honed for mission-driven arts organizations and higher education. With an academic background in modern and contemporary art history, Lindsey’s knowledge and insight make her a powerful advocate for the arts.Currently based in Seattle, Lindsey composed a breadth of professional writing, including letters from the director, newsletters, press releases, website copy, recruitment collateral, social media content, and various official correspondences. Lindsey served for five years as the art reviewer for NPR-member station KMUW where she wrote, fact-checked, and voiced bi-weekly segments dedicated to exhibition reviews and art-related topics. As an independent arts writer, she penned articles, interviews, exhibition statements, and museum wall labels for various organizations.Lindsey DeVries received her Master’s degree in Art History from Southern Methodist University in 2012, and Bachelor’s degree in Art History from The University of Texas at Austin in 2007. Over the course of these two degrees, she focused her research on Latin America, with specialization in 1970s Brazil, colonial cartography, and semiotics.
