As head of Paraphrase Communications, I primarily work with coaches, consultants, and creatives in mid- to late-career transition who are new in their business or making a pivot with their offers or positioning. They need to put their many years of expertise and experience into words that clearly communicate the value of what they’re doing now so they attract right-fit clients who’re happy to pay the fees they deserve.I spent the first 18 years of my career as a graphic designer and creative director/owner of a design studio. While doing print and digital projects, I saw how often clients struggled with what to put on their websites, in their brochures, etc.—in other words, the words. So I dusted off my journalism degree (I'm formally trained as a copywriter) and started helping them with their business writing (and if you're an entrepreneur at any stage, you know how much writing is needed in business).Prior to Paraphrase Communications, I founded and operated Blue Marble Creative for sixteen years where I led communication strategy, brand identity and message development, and design execution for small businesses and nonprofits primarily in the edtech and health & wellness spaces.Verbal and visual language has been a running theme throughout my professional and personal journey. A childhood filled with fine art extracurriculars and notebooks crammed with creative writing. A dual education in journalism and graphic design from University of Missouri-Columbia. Helping my Ethiopian-born son learn English.
