Friendraising and fundraising on behalf of Dallas ISD's newest magnet school which offers a small, focused learning environment where young men prepare for leadership roles in school, the community and society. Mission: The mission of the Friends of the Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy is to invest in and empower endangered young men, in order to develop leaders and role models for our community. We support an academically rigorous, character-based, single gender education that includes rich experiences outside of school. In doing so, we champion a replicable model for Dallas ISD and other school systems to benefit increasing numbers of students.

MSC Members engage with peers who share the same passion for improving our city and gain valuable experience that serves as a catalyst for becoming an engaged leader in Dallas.While not officially affiliated with the city, MSC works alongside Mayor of Dallas, and as such, the MSC projects reflect the priorities set forth by the Mayor. MSC works collaboratively with the Mayor to assist with key initiatives, including GrowSouth.The Mayor’s Star Council is made up of a group of diverse leaders from the ages of 25-40 that come from eight different areas of cultural and professional influence: Arts & Entertainment, Business, Education, Government, Hospitality & Tourism, Media, Religion and the Social Sector. This group has accepted the challenge from our Mayor to be civically engaged in the challenges the city faces rather than inheriting them in the future.Our mission is to empower leaders to impact our city through our purpose to Learn, Connect and Serve.

AHE is a consortium of 12 colleges and universities in North Texas. Services included information sharing and collaboration on: distance learning, admissions/registration, purchasing, library resources and marketing. My role was to develop events and publications, including the Guide to Higher Education in North Texas. Also managed media relations and led the registrars working group.

The Dallas Museum of Natural History presented the Ramses the Great Exhibit on its tour of the United States. I was part of the marketing and public relations team and planned events, managed outreach to community organizations, ran the speakers bureau, served as liaison with Egyptian officials, planned their travel and event participation.

Managed communications, fundraising events, media relations, publications and cable television program for 1000 member organization. Founded Quest for Success Awards luncheon in 1985 honoring Dallas and Fort Worth entrepreneurs for their business achievements and community service. It is now the largest Black History month event of its kind in the Southwest and one of Texas' most important business awards.
