I am a licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia. I have worked at Flow Science since 2002 and am the technical lead for the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) practice. I have completed numerous CFD projects for modeling clearwells, storage reservoirs, pump wet wells, penstocks, pipelines, and other complex structures for multi-disciplinary consulting engineer firms and governmental agencies including Black & Veatch, Parsons Engineering Science, Montgomery Watson Harza, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, the San Diego County Water Authority, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, King County (Washington), the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, and the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board.I also specialize in the analysis and modeling of lake and reservoir water quality and hydrodynamics using a variety of modeling tools including the one-dimensional DYRESM and the three-dimensional ELCOM/CAEDYM models. I have conducted numerous water quality studies of lakes and reservoirs such as Lake Mead, NV, Lake Perris, CA, Los Vaqueros Reservoir, CA, San Vicente Reservoir, CA, and Lake Casitas, CA. The lake and reservoir studies I completed involved thermal stratification, algae growth, dissolved oxygen and bacterial decay. I also have experience in modeling the water quality of coastal water and estuaries affected by sewage, brine discharges, and power plant cooling water discharges.
