Led all student services and programs at Northeastern’s global campuses in San Francisco (SF) and Silicon Valley (SV). Student services at Northeastern SF/SV were very nascent prior to my position; I had the opportunity to define the mission and vision, build the roadmap and team, and scale programs for growth from ~350 students to 800+ over 2 years. I developed a student learning and development program from 0 to 1 on four pillars: professional & leadership development, culture & identity, health & wellness, and community engagement. Some other highlights of my portfolio included: assessment and evaluation (building and managing an annual satisfaction survey in Qualtrics and just-in-time surveys in Google Forms); major event management (Orientations, Graduations, COVID response); student communications and social media; and cross-functional initiatives across Northeastern’s global network. I served as a member of the SF/SV leadership team, and led and contributed to strategic planning for the Bay Area. Northeastern SF/SV focuses on building pathways for underrepresented minorities in STEM fields.

Served as Interim Director of International Student Advising while Director was away on paternity leave (Sept 2018-Jan 2019). Managed 10-person advising team, handled student emergencies, and represented Advising at management meetings in dept and across campus.Administered high-touch student experience from pre-arrival to post-graduation for a diverse student body hailing from over 60 countries. Provided relationship-based advising in academic and transfer planning, F-1 status, culture, career, wellness, etc. Served as the Engineering and CS advisor for ~250 students, and Designated School Official (DSO) and as a subject matter expert on F-1 student regulations for all 1600+ students. Built relationships across campus with faculty, counseling, conduct, and other depts involved in student success. Partnered with marketers on recruitment and represented the College in Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.Managed walk-in advising services and a team of five walk-in advisors. Continuously innovated to improve services and experience; e.g. analyzed queue statistics each quarter to find pain points and lowered wait times to under 10min.

Directed the University Transfer Pathway program, which included pathways from Green River College to over 40 partner universities. Managed partnerships and coordinated visits; hosted over 100 colleges and universities for the International Transfer Fair 2x/year. Maintained and pursued MOUs and course articulations. Managed student programming, including lunch time workshop series, career events, cultural Global Teas, and an Honors ceremony. Tracked engagement and measured satisfaction to improve programs each term.

Mentored and designed programming for 6-8th grade students on writing, reading, and character education. Taught small group classes on the SAT, college applications, and Japanese culture to high school students. Mighty Writers teaches kids to think clearly and write with clarity. Mighty Writers West is located in a Promise Zone, and is designed to boost assets and strengths in high poverty areas.

First leadership hire. Transformed Ivy-Way from an informal tutoring service to a formal academy by creating systems, processes, and standardizing a centralized curriculum. Supervised all instructors (~10 in-person, ~20 online), developed and led instructor onboarding, supported development and training, and coordinated travel, housing, and cultural immersion in Taiwan.Managed all 1-on-1 online and in-person classes and tutoring sessions, college counseling, and summer programs. Drove results and satisfaction by conducting class observations and feedback sessions and implementing regular check-in systems. 100% of teachers reported higher satisfaction; 99% of students from summer SAT program experienced score gains (average improvement 2013: 313pts; 2014: 330pts).

Directed conference on English, leadership, and public speaking for high school students of all socio-economic backgrounds. Managed publicity effort in Taiwan and student admissions process at Harvard. Grew conference from 50 students in its inaugural year to 100 students and over 400 applicants in its third year. Recruited and trained all teachers, created conference curricula, and organized extracurricular events and trips. Personally taught small classes in 2008 and 2010, and still maintain contact with students today.
