Throughout my career I've always loved working with technology - the problem solving, the innovation, the opportunity to create something meaningful. But more than anything I've been drawn to the opportunity to use technology to drive real business outcomes, and have made this my goal in all organisations I have worked for.I spent much of my early career in solution architecture, focused on building scalable systems that could serve more customers, delivery better experiences and deliver greater value. I did this across a number of different industries and at some of Australia’s largest companies such as Fairfax Media, Telstra, Macquarie Group and Commonwealth Bank.While working at Commonwealth Bank I joined a small team of like-minded individuals to initiate what would become x15ventures - a venture builder delivering smaller and more nimble products within the context of a large bank. This led to my role as CTO of Vonto as one of the initial ventures within x15, where I built their technology team, rearchitected their platform for growth, and facilitated Vonto's exit to CBA.Following this I joined Pivot Professional Learning as their CTO where I built their in-house technology team and stabilised their newly-built platform to make it productionised and ready it for scale. I later stepped into the role of General Manager where I took on the running of the entire company - aligning the business development, operations and technology teams during a period of instability and change to deliver on Pivot's overall business objectives.With all of these experiences and learnings from my career to date I’m currently working as a Fractional CTO - helping businesses that are not in a position to hire a full time CTO to take control of their technology and utilise it to its full potential.
