Bio:I obtained my Ph.D. from Portland State University in 2024. I am passionate to solve computer vision problems such as object recognition and detection problems and image and video processing problems by leveraging image processing, computer vision, and machine learning techniques since I was pursuing my master degree at Fu-Jen Catholic University. My Ph.D. thesis is relevant to research and develop a portable computer vision tool to assist programmers for prototyping computer vision software effectively. Regardless of my thesis, I am also passionate about applications of Generative Models (GANs and Diffusion Models), Efficient Deep Neural Networks (Compression, Pruning, Quantization, and Distillation), and applications of Multimodal Learning.Lovely learning new techniques and solving complex problems in machine learning and computer vision via research collaboration and working projects together.Current side projects: Vision Language Models and Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs).Links:1. Computer ProgrammerPortland State University Sep 2016 - Nov 2017Portland, Or, UsI contributed to a new multimedia framework development for manipulating videos as easily as we can manipulate text data in most Unix/Linux systems.1. Designed a system framework and discussed design concepts with the project manager in VPipe.2. Implemented three pipeline infrastructures (Video Encoding and Decoding, OpenCV wrapper, and NetPbm wrapper) in several open-source packages such as Jasson, Libbsion, FFmpeg, OpenCV.3. Refined the OpenCV wrapper by integrating "Last" and "Output" tag to be able to extend scalabilities of the VPipe video-processing system.4. Measured the performance of each infrastructure component to evaluate how slow the wrapper implementation is by comparing distinct frameworks (naive framework and pipeline framework).Skills, Tools, and Platform: C/C++, Shell scripts, JSON, BSON (libbson), OpenCV, FFmpeg, Linux (Ubuntu)Project:Computer Vision and Multimedia System Research Project -
