During spring and summer, I typically care for exterior green (annuals, perennials, fruiting trees, and shrubs) with a few exceptions. When the ground starts to freeze and after fall clean-up is completed, I head indoors to observe several fully-integrated tropical settings until the early spring the following year. I am involved every step of the way towards full adult plant growth including installation, pest control and observation, pruning and hedging, seed collection (if possible), air layering and other methods of root transplanting, fertilization and full nutritional dietary needs, and winterizing any vegetation for the next year.

Greater Detroit Area

I assist in facilitating the setup and take down of props including but not limited to: Christmas trees varying in sizes 3 to 15 feet in height, large holiday baubles, garlands, wreaths varying in sizes 2 to 6 feet across, and general accompanying lights and props. Decorating these various large props was done quickly and strategically with no shortages of coordinating colors or theme items. I have coordinated the upcoming Holiday 2019 Inventory by keeping up on organization of the props in the warehouse by use of item skus or codes, mass cleaning and quality check of every known item, and communicating each placement change with every employee.

These responsibilities include: self-starting and executing client-specific furnished layouts, ability to follow such mapping for design changes, providing keen eye to placement of/and setting special items or props, following client-specific processes, providing excellent service to the the attendees to these private events, and mindfulness to detail for the duration of the events to provide a clean and safe environment at all times.

I took on leadership roles from the day I was hired in at my original location in Hartland, MI. I worked my way up through 5 different locations in the Greater Detroit area and settled for a Store Leader position in Brighton, MI where I stayed for a year before choosing to take on a more challenging store located in White Lake, MI. In this company I had the advantage of being able to fully utilize the skills that Cosmetology training had given me along with my customer service experience of close to 10 years. Responsibilities included: opening and closing the store fully with all moneys being fully accounted for each day, understanding and utilizing the Athena retail program through POS and iPad, hiring and training fully when necessary (or being able to anticipate when it would be necessary), keeping full and accurate inventory of all stock and supplies, providing my customers with the best service to achieve their goals for projects and need for education, delegation of daily tasks and responsibilities to team members and providing proactive coaching insight, understanding current trends and products in the beauty industry, general upkeep of the appearance of the storefront using proper execution of floor plans and weekly-changing signage. Sales were tracked using TY, LY, ATV, UPT, and customer count vs, sales along with coinciding employee incentive programs to achieve specific number goals per sales quarter.

I am responsible for the display, visual appeal, and care of my live product at several large Midwestern Michigan retailers, which includes fresh-cut flowers and bouquets, houseplants of all types and sizes, seasonal decor, and annuals and perennials. Following volume-centric floor plans, sales and specific products are highlighted in each execution. Using knowledge from previous greenhouse employment and current schooling, I give proper care instruction to the best of my ability to customers in need.

Using knowledge and personal interest in electronics, video games, animation, and product overall, I give more than exceptional customer service to those with questions and form relationships with the regular customers who come into my 2 main stores. I would perform system console trade ins, testing, game trade ins, processing several different types of transactions as far as trades and sales were done. General upkeep of the store, visual merchandising execution, open/close processes, and employee coaching/training also included.
