I am a Principal Scientist at Applied Cognitive Science Labs, a new research firm that develops and delivers cutting-edge products and services based on cognitive science research in diverse domains. With a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science and over 30 years of experience in the field, I have a deep understanding of how people develop and apply intuitive expertise in complex and dynamic situations, and how technology can support and accelerate this process.My mission is to help individuals and organizations achieve high levels of performance and innovation in fields such as business performance, engineering, finance, or medicine, using customized methods and technologies that I have created and tested with 53 companies in 9 industries across 4 continents. Some of my clients include IBM, Siemens, Merck, Swiss Re, and New York City Transit. My research has resulted in multiple technologies that drive powerful products for enhancing company performance, executive performance, and de-risking strategies. I have also published extensively in academic journals and books, and received several awards and grants from institutions and foundations such as NASA, National Science Foundation, National Academies of Science and Office of Naval Research.
