Production Team Leader
CurrentStarted leading a team of 17 team members operating various pedestal welders, MIG, nut and resistance welding robot cells. My main production line produces parts for the L551 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Mk 2. The same parts are used across the PTA platform and has since been used on L550 Discovery Sport and X540 Jaguar E-Pace. Since 2020 my team size has doubled to a typical maximum of 35 operators and 2 leading operators, who help direct the 2 areas I am now responsible for. Responsible for first level management; monitoring and driving improvement in performance; training and ensuring the highest quality standards are met and adhered to for our customer; leading training and education in 5s/TPM/operational and technical understanding; developing line versatility and building great team relations; helping elevate future leaders in the business through empowerment and engagement. My leadership style is co-operative, engaging, involved and educational; customer and people focussed. People won't work properly for someone who doesn't involve and inspire them. Respect is a 2 way street. I have experience of fabrication, continuous improvement, have a keen interest in aspects of industrial engineering and robotics. Good knowledge of manufacturing concepts such as Ishikawa, 5-whys problem solving, 5s organisation, lean management, performance improvement, training and coaching, QMS and a broad understanding of automotive manufacturing.
