This was a temporary position during the summer break. My duties at DWB included building roof trusses and posi-joists from raw material to finished product. Other duties included load management, quality control and meeting client deadlines. I was part of a small team and due to staff absence, I had to take on the leadership role several times.

After my university year was cut short due to COVID, I began working at an Amazon warehouse where I worked in various roles. During my 6 months there, I was assigned more responsibilities including training new starters and resolving issues that occurred during the shift. This gave me insight into how large-scale operations were streamlined to increase efficiency. It also showed me the importance of communication and teamwork to ensure that targets were met within the timeframe.

My role at Gazel was to support my supervisors with the teaching and caring of SEN adults. I occasionally led the sessions where I had to be engaging in order to hold the concentration of the clients. This was incredibly rewarding work which required patience, empathy and excellent communication skills.

During my A level studies I tutored a number of pupils in mathematics. We had weekly sessions to work through the Key Stage 2 or GCSE syllabus and I am pleased to say my students made significant progress. This role required me to be patient, friendly and also professional. Being self-employed I needed to manage appointments around my schedule and keep track of my fees.

I started this position as data entry; entering customer orders onto an in-house transport system. Over the years my position expanded as I took on more responsibilities. I completed costing sheets for multiple customers and was responsible for creating and maintaining complex Excel sheets. For the European part of the business, I cross-checked toll usage. The majority of my hours were carried out remotely from home but during the school holidays I would often work additional hours in the office. This position required great attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
