Accountable for leading a team of six to improve efficiency and reduce the cost of fuel, the third largest spend. • Manage the Aurizon Energy Team of specialists in fuel, supply process, accounting, train operations and energy to work effectively with the business on management and accountability for 220mL of bulk fuel annual consumption and supply. • Multi-year planning, embedding of processes, reporting of fuel and energy metrics to executive management, initiative reporting and estimation of benefits. • Client-side program management of leading edge GE technology, driver advisory systems and BP innovations in fuel and oil products. • Stakeholder engagement and business case development to lead, investigate, scope and implement year on year cost cutting initiatives relating to fuel and energy. This is a large-scale transformation program of works with Executive sponsorship and direct engagement with frontline. • Build customer relationships with key suppliers of fuel and oil and manufacturers of technologies associated with improving the fuel efficiency of locomotives. Achievements• Led the Energy Team in large scale transformation and operational improvement which resulted in three consecutive years of fuel and energy metric improvements of 17.2%.• Developed the first Aurizon Fuel Plan which brought governance and transparency to transformation activities and enabled program management and visibility of outcomes. • Led the development of the Train Management Scorecard through an agile project team to harness big data to be used for management decision making and frontline compliance and monitoring. • Implemented the $4.7m Bulk Fuel Management System (BFMS) at 20 automated sites and 70+ web saving $1.4m in labour per annum.
