Foundation Innovation Team member where I lead and assisted large, targeted, innovation campaigns aimed at solving complex organisational issues and leading implementation programs of work.• This role included business case development, linking research partnerships and suppliers, managing R&D commercialisation, marketing and cultural aspects and developing strategic plans for the organization.• Leading, initiating and implementing innovation concepts within many parts of the business: The first autonomous rail inspection vehicle; coal operations; level crossings; trackside safety; in-cab electronic systems. • Development of the Aurizon Innovation Strategy and related policies including the management and process improvement for idea generation, Enterprise IP, R&D and horizon 2 collaboration.• Engaging universities and research organisations such as UQ, QUT and CSIRO to connect with commercial entities and Deans of related disciplines.Achievements:• I am trained in the innovation process from renowned Boston based innovators, Synectics World as a brainstorming and lateral thinking technique. I have personally developed processes to build on this body of knowledge to adapt to operational environments and focus on implementation. • An integrated system (SPARTA) for Trackside Safety combining CSIRO research and developed technology for a complete safety system for Rail Access and Safety Assurance. • Secretariat and chair responsibilities for an Executive level ‘Fast Track Disruption Panel’.• Representing Aurizon at the Railway Roadmap to 2040, Ausrail, CoC involvement, CRC research and conducting conference style sessions with researchers for Aurizon.
