My roles and responsibilities included: - Arranging urgent automotive cargo charter flights and overseeing them to ensure they run smoothly by communicating with handling agents, airlines and the customer. - Arranging cargo charter flights, which involved identifying the most suitable aircraft for transporting the cargo, taking into consideration the dimensions and weights and requesting quotations from the airlines. After booking I would then ensure that all the landing permits, over flight permits and documentation were granted and for any extra loading equipment such as cranes were in place. As with the urgent automotive market I would then oversee the flight to ensure everything ran smoothly. - I was positioned to the Philippines following Typhoon Haiyan to oversee the delivery of humanitarian aid for the large aid agencies. My role as a flight manager was to liaise with air traffic control, the military and the aid agency representatives to ensure the aid reached the correct people while also making sure the aircraft had air traffic slots, fuel and ground equipment.
