In this role, I design the electrical schematics for air conditioning units that are distributed to data centers and major supermarket chains in the UK. I read data sheets and assess the appropriate, correct wiring. I also create installation books, which are particular to each unit, that include details ranging from cable lengths to the placement of cable runs. Other aspects of the job include creating dead test certificates and torque sheets, and creating cable markers for wire tagging using Weidmuller software and printers. I createcomponent lists to be used by procurements to assist them in purchasing what is required. This role has made me familiar with a wide range of electrical components, and I have good experience in working with manufacturers toidentify any faults with their products. I have also achieved a certificate in AutoCAD Electrical.

I carry out detailed quality checks within the paint line and play an active role in improvements relating to effeciency, accuracy, and attention to detail. I use tools such as the BYKmac, BYK wave scanner to assess the paint, as well as adhesion tests. I have completed training in 8D problem solving as part of a wider mangement training programme. This role involves customer forward tasks, maintaining customer relations by attending weekly development meetings, and both internal and external communication. I produce high quality SOPS (WES) that are a clear standard guideline, which informs the paintline staff of how to produce the highest quality of work. This role also involves gathering high vplumes of data from the paintline and recording this information on Excel for reporting purposes.

This role involves the programming and maintenance of the painting robots on the plant. This requires use of ABB and Studio programming and urgent technical repairs that require me to create innovative solutions in the case of a track or robot break-down. This includes daily backups of data and programs, monitoring the alert systems for any errors or malfunctions, and resolving these issues via either manual maintenance, for example stripping the robots, or using a digital interface to configure the robot or locate and diagnose any digital errors. This is completed within a limited timeframe in order to prevent a decline in productivity due to technical issues in the plant and, therefore, entails lots of responsibility for the workload. This role has developed my time-management, organizational, creative, and problem-solving skills, and has also given me the opportunity to train new staff.
