This post was a cashier role entailing constant cash handling, transactions and regular customer interaction throughout purchase of goods. This job relied on effective teamwork and strong initiative to allow the store to operate efficiently to benefit the customer. Also, I had the opportunity working many shifts within the petrol station which also involved extensive customer interaction.

Working as part of a team during busy summer and Christmas periods, when university is finished. The role involves working with customers to ensure they have the best experience whilst staying at the hotel. Working behind the bar allows me to gain first-hand experience handling money, as well as an opportunity to work under pressure during busy events like weddings. Working behind the bar also allows me to speak to customers freely and provide a high standard of service upselling a variety of high levelled drinks. This means I have to be adaptable and flexible to be able to work in a wide range of roles every shift. Furthermore, during the busy evening service I have to manage my time sufficiently to ensure the front of house staff I am supervising are working efficiently. This takes a high level of self-organisation, to ensure all jobs and tasks are completed to meet pressing deadlines. Working within a small four-star luxury hotel means I have to be reliable, responsible and undertake various jobs within a short period of time.
