Working on multiple development projects within LTD.Exploring the effects of surface tension, rheology, temperature and additives on the stability of curtain coatings.Adapting slot-die application methods to use on conventional coil coating lines by use of a laboratory-scale slot-die application line.Now designing a model to predict the stability of the curtain coatings.

Joined the Quality Control laboratory. Reworking redundant materials into commercial stock, for all locally produced coatings. Such coatings include: Polyester; Polyurethane; Polyvinylidene fluoride; Plastisol and water-based systems.

Providing analytical support for the global community.During this time I developed my analytical skills and ability to interpret results whilst being mentored directly by our Lead Analyst. I learned to operate all analytical instrumentation whether it was spectroscopy; chromatography; microscopy; calorimetry or microhardness. I have the responsibly to perform the tests to BS EN or ASTM standards and record and report the results.Learned more about paint formulation, how to optimise polyester/melamine or isocyanate/hydroxyl ratio based on the desired properties of the coatings and how to manipulate the glass transition temperature (Tg) to achieve such properties. Learned theory of UV degradation of polymers and the corrosion mechanism.

Joined the Long-term development laboratory (LTD). Here I prepared samples of coatings (panels) for weathering exposure and accelerated weathering tests. This required cutting panels to a specific size of predetermined dimensions, labeling each panel with a unique identification number and packaging them for safe transport to exposure sites located around the world.
