As a start up studio Stellar offers me the exposure to collaborate with and support all the departments of our pipeline. I have the chance to work closely with our Line Producer and CG Supervisor as well as all department heads. It is a great opportunity to be very hands on and shape the studio as it builds - if you like being busy and practical problem solving, this is a fun position.As a Production Coordinator I am currently covering the following departments:- Art Dept- Layout- Modelling- Rigging- Surfacing- Animation- Lighting- Pipeline

Pipeline Coordinating• Tracking pipeline tasks and priorities• Coordinating a team of coders and programmers• Liaising with other CG departments to ensure shots / assets / sequences get through pipeline• Writing up and tasking out pipeline tickets according to team skillset• Documentation (spreadsheets, gantt charts, departmental Word docs, Shotgun tracker) and note taking in meetings and screenings• Working directly under both Pipeline Supervisor and CG Supervisor to assess studio and project priorities and deadlines• Software used: Shotgun production tracker, RV, Microsoft SuiteLayout:• Working ahead of Animation department to identify what is required in initial set up of a scene• Liaising with other departments throughout the studio to ensure that any and all delays are communicated to minimise impact on production • I get to work directly under the CG Supervisor and make sure that the Layout workflow is understood and succinctly communicated out to Layout artists• Tracking Layout artist's work through Shotgun and running reviews of initial passes with CG SupervisorCFX / Final Layout:• Again I have the opportunity to work directly with the CG Supervisor in figuring out the most efficient workflow for these two departments which work hand in hand.• Creating and updating documentation for the team(s) through google docs, Shotgun tracking and spreadsheets• Organising and driving reviews of CFX artists work through RV and Shotgun and working alongside the Lead for Final Layout to identify QC checks for shots and hand off to downstream departments• I work with the CG Supervisor, Production Manager and other production team members to ensure that deadlines are understood, are achievable and are communicated out to the team members. I also communicate ad hoc directly with the client if there are any asset queries or deadline affecting issues.

Pipeline Coordinating• Tracking pipeline tasks and priorities• Coordinating a team of coders and programmers (which was not my background), and learning more in depth about the requirements of supporting an animated feature and building a pipeline to future proof a studio• Liasing with other CG departments to ensure shots / assets / sequences get through pipeline• Writing up and tasking out pipeline tickets according to team skillset• Documentation (spreadsheets, gantt charts, departmental Word docs, Shotgun tracker) and note taking in meetings and screenings• Perform quality control on shots for feature film• Working directly under both Pipeline Supervisor and CG Supervisor to assess studio and project priorities and deadlines• Software used: Shotgun production tracker, RV, Microsoft SuiteCrowds Coordinating • Work closely with Crowds artists to prioritise departmental workload on a daily and weekly basis • It also allowed me the opportunity to work alongside other departments such as CFX, Animation and Lighting to understand better the workings of an animation pipeline and gain experience working at a shot level instead of at a studio level with Pipeline coordination. I really enjoyed this as it was a very hands on, fast paced position that was challenging but really rewarding, and helped me develop transferable skills such as: a better working knowledge of Shotgun, prioritising artists workloads and understanding the imapct of delays on upstream and downstream departments. • I was also tasked with making the task templates for Crowds cycles, tasking out the work to artists and tracking this workMy two main roles have allowed me to work on both a shot level with artists and at a studio level, supporting the pipeline team, the CG supervisor and also the VFX supervisor (in relation to quality checking and colour correction delivery for Sausage Party)
