The DevOps Engineering Assistant is responsible for assisting in the delivery of the day-to-dayactivities to support the technology platforms and applications of their respective Capability Area at The University of Newcastle.There is significant opportunity to enhance professional skills under the guidance of an experienced mentor, across business analysis, business system administration, functional development and solutions development areas.

Assisting with student enquiries related to the library. Adhering to University Policies and Procedure.Engaging with a wide range of students and members of the general public. Fixing, solving or flagging any technical problems with hardware and software that is used across library facilities.

Mentoring role to help first year BIT students adapt to University Life.Duties include:Completing outbound calls to commencing students in the Bachelor of Information Technology to provide guidance and academic support, including how to develop effective study patterns.Attending informal meet ups and virtual meet ups to provide advice and support to ensure positive academic progress and successAssisting with Faculty engagement events and functions throughout the year

Support recruitment and engagement initiatives for undergraduate degrees. Engage with future students of the University.Build a positive reputation for the University within the community, including prospective students and their influencers, the school community, the business community, professional organisations, agents and internal stakeholders.

Addressing and solving a variety of IT issues across many different locations. Including but not limited to:Diagnosing and fixing any hardware issuesMaintaining multiple networks and associated technologyGeneral IT troubleshooting
