I am lucky enough to work in 3 different departments within Tesco -I work in the Hardlines department, making sure all the non-food section is full and looking it's best, filling shelves, moving products to optimize sales, customer assistance over any technological queries, supporting other departments if necessary, facing up products to ensure maximum visual impact. ensure the team is uptodate on weekly news, organise, pack and return faulty goodsI also work on the checkouts. which is split up into 3 job roles - Checkout operator. This involves a lot of customer service/interaction, scanning products, ensuring coupons and money off vouchers are valid and relevant, packing bags if necessary, responsible for counting money, checking authenticity of bank notes, advertising promotions.Self Serve operator - Ensure customers have no problem using the self serve machines, rectifying computer and human errors, ensuring all items are paid for, greeting and helping customers.Running on Main Bank - Ensuring customers go to the quickest till to work towards the KPIs of our targets, deal with any problem any of the tills have (product exchange, price verify, price edit, alcohol authorization), calling for more staff from other departments if we start to lose against the KPIs.Cash Office - I am one of 4 people within the roster of 180+ staff with the responsibility of Cash office.I count the previous days money, use the banking system to correlate it with the tills, ensure no highs and lows are there, find reasons for them if there are. Take change deliveries, etc
