Upon completing my studies at the end of 2019, I commenced an undergraduate electrical engineering role within Sedgman, a highly successful mineral and resource processing company. Throughout this time, I worked closely with my mentor Tim Sheehy, Manager of Electrical and Instrumentation Design alongside the two Principle Electrical Engineers Brandon Loong and Beatriz Rodriguez to provide continuous improvement updates to their electrical estimating systems and see out the process of engineering procurement and design. My responsibilities included:o Design & Delivery of Electrical Schematic and Termination Diagramso Design & Delivery of Electrical Layouts & Single Line Diagramso Creating Electrical Estimates and Cable Schedules o Using Excel VBA & Macros to update and automate estimating processeso Adhering to National Legislation and Australian StandardsThis internship has given me the experience necessary to be a valuable asset to any engineering team and my industry exposure has allowed me to develop the skills necessary to be a competitive graduate employee. I was also fortunate enough to make a number of great connections within the company as well as build strong vendor relationships which I am confident to work with.
