Having begun as a DEC VAX operator/programmer, progressed through: programmer, programmer/analyst, etc. I am now an IT Systems Engineer and head of a small data services unit. We service a rather specific scientific community using advanced data retireval and data analysis applications. Our hardware/software budget (not counting staff costs) is 80,000 Euro per annum.I would like now to progress to a more senior management role and manage a larger IT Systems or Services group.Specialties: Provision of internet data services. Technical & scientific data analysis and processing. All aspects of IT support for a sophisticated user group. Linux, OpenVMS, Apache, Jakarta Tomcat, Perl, FORTRAN.
