After completing my Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting at Nelson Mandela University in South Africa, I started my articles at a successful firm in my hometown to work towards obtaining my AGA(SA) designation. Here is where I discovered my passion for helping small to medium-sized entities operate in an efficient and effective manner to best ensure growth and sustainability.The reason I entered this industry was due to the fact that I live in a country where the economy is in a significantly worsened state and it is next to impossible for SME's to thrive. Therefore, I wanted to try to impact the cycle by finding ways of ensuring that companies operate in a cost-effective way and that a company only pays in taxes what is absolutely necessary. I believe that if effective processes are set in place, the company can not only save money but generate revenue in a more efficient manner. I feel that this way of thinking will allow me to be a great asset in any company or field that I enter. Outside of work you can find me in the outdoors, near the sea, or eating delicious food with great company. I love having a good laugh and value memories over materialism.I have a particular interest in emerging eco-friendly companies/startups within the realm of sustainable energy, building, textile, medicine and food. My ideal work environment and team dynamic would include modern thinking and innovation, problem-solving, diversity, inclusivity and a work ethic that prioritizes working smart rather than hard. I would like to be part of a team, where each person is seen and treated as an integral piece of the working puzzle, instead of being just a number in the system.I value respect, honesty, transparency and wish to mirror these same values to whomever I work for and with.
