I am currently a newly qualified staff nurse working within a fast paced acute setting. I have a caring attitude and have a passion for providing person centred care. I am eager to learn new skills, gain new qualifications and progress within my career. I work well both within a multi disciplinary and as a lone worker and able to use own initiative whilst remaining within my limitations. Throughout my nurse training I have had placements in a variety of settings including wards, AMU and community based with the district nurses which I have developed transferable skills which are essential for this role. I have grown in confidence and expanded on my communication, clinical skills such as BLS, wound, catheter and stoma care, medication administration, IT skills, venipuncture, NG care, care planning and delivering person centred care. It is my goal to progress within my career. I am able to recognise signs of deterioration and escalate accordingly. Throughout all my training and practice I have upheld the NMC code and trust values, I have had very positive feedback from all of my placement practice assessors and received a student nurse of the month award and also received positive feedback from patients and relatives. I feel I would be a valued member of the team as I feel I have the essential and desirable skills for this role and am willing to go above and beyond to provide a high standard of care and progress within my role.
