• Engaged with the public via discussions about my research on Socorro doves and the role of zoos in their conservation, on two zoo night events held at London Zoo.

• Daily care for inpatients in a fast-paced, busy 24-hour hospital. • Calculation/provision of correct diets, taking TPRs, bandaging patients and administering topical/oral/ocular medication where required.• Designed a wild bird protocol to improve welfare of avian patients, currently in use by the practice. • Assisted with emergency triage.• Restrained and positioned patients for various examinations.• Carried out in-house haematology, biochemistry and urinalysis tests.• Communicated with owners face-to-face and via phone to provide patient updates.• Kept all areas of hospital well stocked and clean.

• Responsible for the husbandry of 12 exotic mammal/bird species on the 'zoo' section.• Assisted on reptile and hoofstock sections.• Engaged with students and public via educational talks and animal encounters.• Liaised with and assisted zoo veterinarians during routine visits.• Record keeping using hand-written diaries and ZIMS.
