- Deputy Inspector of Municipalities, Order in Council appointment as statutory approving officer for local government bylaws related to local government finance and service establishment; and tax rate approval for improvement districts.- Provide leadership, strategic vision, and options to senior executive for resolving complex policy issues pertaining to local government infrastructure, finance and related programs.-Responsible for oversight and stewardship of local government financial and infrastructure systems.- Advance and negotiate strategic provincial initiatives with local governments, other ministries, the federal government and external stakeholders, examples include: co-managing delivery of the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality’s “Infrastructure Development Capital Agreement” and membership in the Partnership Committee for the $2.7 billion Gas Tax Agreement. - Manage inter-governmental issues including: representing Ministry interests related to local government infrastructure, public finance, planning and governance at the local, provincial and national level; and participating in the development and amendment of provincial regulation/legislation, standards, strategies and action plans.- Apply solid understanding of provincial roles and relationships across a broad range of stakeholders including intra/inter-ministry, federal, local governments, NGOs, and industry groups to resolve issues, develop policy, improve information sharing and program integration.- Cultivate long term vision, goals and objectives for federal/provincial capital grant and provincial planning grant program with a focus on adding value to programs and ensuring the development and implementation of sustainable local government infrastructure. - Administer an annual operational budget of approximately $2 million and an annual program administration budget up to $350 million.

• Developed and negotiated provincial strategic initiatives including managing the delivery of multiple inter-jurisdictional multi-million dollar federal-provincial infrastructure funding programs for local governments, providing advice to other ministries on the implications for development and implementation of provincial legislation relating to local government programs and infrastructure.• Managed inter-governmental issues including: representing Ministry interests pertaining to local government infrastructure, public finance, planning and governance at the local, provincial and national level; and participating in the development of provincial standards, strategies and action plans.• Membership on several inter-governmental committees such as the Drinking Water Leadership Council; Drought Response Planning Group; and disaster mitigation response.
