Knowing my passion for kitchens and having a vast amount of industry knowledge by working for a retailer and an independent company I knew I had to give it ago on my own. I have built a reputation around Southport for delivering uncompromising quality and service to local people by giving them the best advice and guidance on there projects. By opening my own company, I have learnt lots of valuable skills such as: finance management; Business-To-Business skills; managing customer expectations on the design, installation and aftercare; time management and organisation skills ensuring the design is issued on time and making sure materials are ordered and arrive on schedule to ensure all stages of the project run smoothly.

Working for Howdens really gave me the insight into where my career was going and opened up my passion for kitchens. Being my first sales role, I hit the ground running, outperforming others in the same role and building relationships with builders and their customers. I was also tasked with taking deliveries, correcting issues from other designers and being trusted to open and close the depot when I decided to work late to work around customer’s needs.

My main responsibility was to assist with all aspects of electrical work carried out by M Sutton, this included rewiring, PAT testing, Periodical testing, installing light fixtures and fitting and fuse board changing. My knowledge and skill set are put to use daily as I am asked for input on new projects and often asked to assist other members of staff and in times of need finish off jobs on my own. I understand the importance of maintain a professional relationship with both customers and suppliers as this is key to running a successful business and giving a company a good reputation.

My main role at Hatfield’s Jaguar was to valet and detail all of the cars onsite, which included: paint correction, scratch removal, leather restoration and polishing. However, my daily tasks and responsibilities varied, I was often asked to collect cars from all over the UK and deliver them to customers, this included overnight trips and completing the handover process. It was my responsibility to ensure the sale ended on a positive note and the customers were happy when performing the handover process. My high attention to detail was highly praised and recognised, I was often asked to detail the company director’s personal cars and requested for special projects by other dealerships under the Hatfield’s brand.

Whilst working at Ormskirk Kitchens I took on all aspects of the business from start to finish. I worked hard to meet deadlines and hit targets set by the manager, which I often exceeded. My main job role was to meet with clients to design and plan their kitchens, it was down to me to get the customer on board and make the sale. I also followed up this process by ordering all the necessary materials and briefing the staff on the timing of jobs and deadlines. When staff shortages occurred, I also helped out in the installation of the kitchens and finishing off necessary paperwork to complete all jobs.
