I recently completed University, obtaining a Second Class Honours in Sport Coaching at Sheffield Hallam. I am passionate about sports coaching and getting young people involved in different sports. This passion is mainly down to past experiences when I was receiving coaching in cricket and football. I want to be able to make children confident in sport so they are likely to continue throughout their life time. I feel it is important for a good level of coaching at the very start of a child's development as they will discover the talents they have and improve further. In the 2014 cricket season I was the manager of my clubs (Oughtibridge War Memorial Cricket Club) u13's team, in the upcoming season I will be managing the u11s. This allows me to utilise my skills of developing a child, not only on a technical level but also holistically. In the future I want to be able to gain other qualifications in different sports to allow me to mature further as a coach. If the right opportunities arise I want to be able to take my knowledge of sports abroad, to give other countries/communities the experience of coaching from a different walk of life. All this links to wanting to become a high quality sport coach and having a positive impact on young peoples lives in the long term.
